Vice President
Pence makes an important pit stop Vice President
Mike Pence arrived in Japan yesterday to begin meeting with
foreign leaders and building on the momentum of President
Donald J. Trump’s historic visit to Asia last year.
But before the Vice
President flew to Japan, he made a special stop in Alaska at
Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson on Monday evening. Gov. Bill
Walker (I-AK) was at the Vice President’s side.
“As I prepare to
travel to Japan and South Korea, I thought it was altogether
fitting to begin here at Elmendorf, the first line of defense
for the American people,” the Vice President said. “Missile
defense begins here in Alaska. And the American people and the
world should know that our nation is secure.
“Our nation's defenses
from potential inbound missile attacks is the best in the
world.”
