Donald
Trump is standing up for American interests
White House Director of
Trade and Industrial Policy Peter Navarro writes that President
Trump is standing up for American interests by taking on
China’s unfair trade practices. The President’s vision “is
that of a global trading system free of the imbalances and
unfair practices that now hold growth back, not just in the US
but around the world,” Mr. Navarro explains in the Financial
Times.

“More than a dozen
federal agencies agreed to slash the time needed for
environmental reviews and permitting on major infrastructure
projects, a cornerstone of President Donald Trump’s
infrastructure plan,” Ari Natter and Mark Niquette report for
Bloomberg
News. “Streamlining of permits is a major element of
the infrastructure initiative Trump wants to enact through
Congressional and administrative action.”

Secretary of Agriculture
Sonny
Perdue writes in the Lexington Herald-Leader that
“while Congress continues its work on the Farm Bill, rural

farmers, ranchers, producers, and foresters.”

In RealClearMarkets,
American Enterprise Institute Visiting Fellow John Bailey
explains how “Opportunity Zones”—a crucial piece of the
tax cuts law President Trump signed in December—could help
transform low-income communities. “For decades Americans have
had the chance to invest in emerging markets all around the
world,” Bailey writes. “Now they have the chance to invest
in America’s own emerging markets.”

Former Sen. Joseph
Lieberman and Mark D. Wallace, a former U.S. ambassador to the
United Nations, write in The
Hill that “Ambassador Bolton has a breadth and depth
of experience in national security, and a reputation for
knowing the ins and outs of Washington. These qualities will
make him an effective national security advisor.”
