Trump to
send National Guard to US-Mexico border
“President Trump has
ordered the National Guard to secure the U.S.-Mexico border in
the absence of congressional action on immigration,” Sarah
Westwood reports for the Washington Examiner.
“The president has
directed that the Department of Defense and the Department of
Homeland Security work together with our government to deploy
the National Guard to our Southwest border to assist the border
patrol,” Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen told
reporters at the White House.
