August 23, 2018 Thank you for your email. Our Nation owes the brave men and women who defend our country a debt of gratitude. Yesterday, I was proud to award posthumously the Medal of Honor to Technical Sergeant John A. Chapman, United States Air Force, for his conspicuous gallantry in making the ultimate sacrifice for his country. On March 4, 2002, during a helicopter insertion on Takur Ghar mountain in Afghanistan, Sergeant Chapman’s aircraft came under heavy enemy fire and was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade. When one of his teammates was ejected from the helicopter before it crash landed in the valley below, Sergeant Chapman selflessly volunteered to return to the snow-capped mountain, into the heart of a known enemy stronghold, in an attempt to rescue his brother in arms. In doing so, he was mortally wounded by enemy gunfire, ultimately laying down his life to

August 22, 2018 Thank you for taking the time to send me your thoughts and suggestions. As President, I have promised to restore the rule of law in our country . The Department of Homeland Security and the brave men and women of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) are vital in helping us accomplish this goal. Each day, these courageous Americans put themselves in harm’s way to protect our communities . Far too often, they receive little to no credit for helping to keep our country safe and secure. On Monday, I was proud to honor these special agents by hosting the “Salute to the Heroes of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs Border Protection” to thank them for their service to our Nation. I encourage you to watch Monday's special event from the East Room of the White House as we recognized these

The White House • August 22, 2018 The Day Ahead President Donald J. Trump presents the Medal of Honor. Watch live at 3:30 p.m. ET. In a few hours, the longest bull market in U.S. history Today will mark another milestone in America’s incredible economic boom: At 3,453 days since the S&P 500 hit its low point during the Great Recession, U.S. stocks are poised to surpass their longest-running rally in history. Recent gains , “aided by the U.S. corporate tax cut in December, deliver a rebuttal to skeptics,” The Wall Street Journal reports. The evidence in support of President Trump’s economic agenda is stacking up: wages are rising, GDP growth cleared 4 percent last quarter, and unemployment recently fell to its lowest rate in decades. Americans are now more assured than ever about their financial health and economic futures. In addition to soaring levels of confidence reporte

#MeToo Menschenrechtsopfer!

The White House • August 21, 2018 The Day Ahead President Donald J. Trump will meet with labor union leaders at the White House. ICE successfully removes Nazi camp guard Overnight , U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) carried out a 2004 order of deportation for Jakiw Palij, a former Nazi SS labor camp guard in German-occupied Poland. After World War II, Palij lied about being a Nazi and became a resident of Queens, New York. Through extensive negotiations , President Trump and his team secured Palij’s deportation to Germany. Despite the 2004 removal order, past administrations were unsuccessful in expelling Palij from America. To protect the promise of freedom for Holocaust survivors and their families, President Trump prioritized the removal of Palij. His long-overdue deportation sends a strong message: The United States will not tolerate those who facilitated Nazi cri
