Thank
you for your email. My staff is closely reviewing your
correspondence to ensure your views, questions, and concerns are
addressed.
In
October of 2017, I
declared the opioid crisis a national Public Health Emergency.
This declaration was just one of many steps that my Administration
has taken to address this crisis. Over two years, we have secured
$6 billion in funding to help us combat
this epidemic, including $930 million in grants awarded by the
Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration
(SAMHSA).
Yesterday,
I proudly signed into law the SUPPORT
for Patients and Communities Act. This comprehensive bill
provides several key provisions to help strengthen our Nation’s
efforts to combat the opioid crisis and assist Americans
struggling with substance abuse disorders. To learn more about my
Administration’s continued efforts to combat addiction in
America, watch
Wednesday's signing ceremony or visit www.WhiteHouse.gov/opioids.
Thank
you again for taking the time to write.
Sincerely,
Donald Trump |
