I
appreciate you taking the time to send me an email. As President,
I am keeping my promise to renegotiate the North American Free
Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
On
Monday, I announced
from the Oval Office that my Administration has secured a
preliminary deal between the United States and Mexico that
modernizes and rebalances trade between our two countries in a way
that is beneficial to both American agriculture and manufacturing.
This deal in principle will help create more reciprocal
trade that grows our economy. It will also support high-paying
jobs and protect the intellectual property of our companies and
workers. This negotiation with Mexico is just one of many actions
that I have taken to improve our existing trade agreements.
Thank
you again for taking the time to write. Together, we will continue
to build a more prosperous future for our country.
