America’s economy is thriving and I want to share with you the tremendous results of our continued economic growth. Just last month, the United States economy added 223,000 jobs. Employment growth has averaged 207,000 jobs per month in 2018—faster than the gains in 2016 and 2017. Since taking office, we have added nearly 3 million jobs to our Nation’s economy. Across the country, hardworking Americans in manufacturing, construction, mining, and logging are especially benefitting from my pro-growth agenda. After averaging gains of only 27,000 jobs per month during President Obama’s second term, these industries have almost doubled the pace of hiring to 46,000 jobs per month since January 2017. As Americans find increased opportunities to get back to work, unemployment levels are reaching historic lows. At 3.8 percent, the unemployment rate is at the lowest it has been in 50 years, and is at an all-time low for African Americans and Hispanic Americans. Thank you again for taking the time to write.
