Melania
and I were pleased to celebrate
the 4th of July with our wonderful military families on the
South Lawn of the White House. As we honor our heroic servicemen
and women, both past and present, we also thank the law
enforcement community.
Our
public service officers work diligently to keep our neighborhoods
and Nation safe every day, especially as we gather to celebrate
special occasions with family and friends. These brave Americans
put themselves in harm’s way to protect our communities. Far too
often, they do not receive the credit they deserve for their
incredible work.
We
also recognize the selfless sacrifices of the courageous men and
women of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Immigration and
Customs Enforcement (ICE). These agents fearlessly fulfill their
duty to keep the American people and our communities safe from
drugs, violence, and the consequences of human trafficking. They
deserve our support.
